And telling love stories is my dream job. If you let me in, I’ll treasure that privilege. I will champion your love, your marriage, your family. While weddings are my bread and butter, my empathetic little heart gets joy from capturing any and all forms of love.
Each couple I have the honor of being with on their wedding day teaches me something new; everyone exhibits love a little differently, and it is all worthwhile, lovely, and wonderful. Ugly crying does not exist. If you’re crying, it is heartfelt and genuine and dang beautiful. These are the things worth pursuing, the golden moments I want to capture and help you remember when the party is over and the dress is hung up.

These dream boats just passed their two year anniversary so it felt like time to share some of my favorite photos ever again AND I get to have them back in front of my camera soon to document another super exciting season of their lives! Ohhhh baby I’m excited (that’s a pun 😉)!
The light in the south in the fall is just something different, I swear. Excited for another season of chasing this magic across hilltops and swimming in it’s hazy goodness when I’m no where near actual water.

Excited to share some from this project I shot back in December with @amymerrittcutshair. This was shot around 11pm in my old studio. It was veeeeeery different conditions than I’m used to, but so good to stretch creatively! @philofloral came through as always with this killer color blocked bouquet ⚡️

Just in case you need it today, here’s some permission to just do you on your wedding day. I handled a lot of the details for my wedding myself, and I remember the stress, so I get it! I hear so many people say they were worried about the colors coming together or that something would end up weird or out of place. If you’re not sure which direction to lean or need a little inspiration, I always look at my saved photos here on Instagram. You know, the ones with the little flag you can use to book mark? It’s amazing to me how much my brain is drawn to certain color palettes and I can see them pretty clearly there. I sat with a friend recently and we looked through ours and they were SO different, but very telling! Abby’s personal style was such a huge element on her day, and I loved it so much. 💖✨

Had the best time exploring so many hidden architectural gems and green spots in Chicago this weekend. She’s a city with variety, no doubt about it. Wandered around a park and through some wildflowers with Elizabeth and Matt for their engagement photos near the end of my trip, and I’ll just never get tired of experiencing new places through my camera with a loved up couple in front of it.
I grew up taking family vacations in the blue ridge mountains, hopping around on rocks in these rivers and making up love stories in my head. Getting to do that now, but actually telling real ones through photographs is some real mind blowing full circle ish. 🖤
Just thinking back on this magical day last August as one of my fave sister-friend duos gets ready for another wedding! I remember sitting in my hotel room editing sneak peeks and watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and eating Doritos at 2 am. Still eagerly awaiting the sequel to that btw, Netflix. Candace, you’re going to be such a beautiful bride! Congrats lil Candy girl! 🎉🍾
